VALLEY FORGE NATIONAL PARK TRAILS

Take a walk through history at the Valley Forge National Park. During the Revolutionary War, it was the site of the third winter encampment of the Continental Army. Today, the land welcomes over 1.3 million visitors every year who come to see the monuments and explore the meadows and woodlands. Over 19 miles of paths meander through the park, including the Joseph Plumb Martin Trail. This 6.6-mile paved loop connects to key historic and interpretive sites.

TYLER STATE PARK TRAILS

Nestled in nearby Newtown, Tyler State Park covers the grounds of an 18th-century farm. It's found in a delightful wooded setting, and features four miles of dedicated hiking trails. The path challenges hikers with steep inclines. Along the way, they'll see remnants of the farm and a replica of a covered bridge. The scenic Neshaminy Creek flows through the property and provides opportunities for fishing and canoeing.

NOLDE FOREST ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTER TRAILS

Spanning 665 acres, Nolde Forest features ten miles of trails. The property once belonged to hosiery baron Jacob Nolde. He was a German immigrant who wanted to recreate the old country. He planted 250,000 spruce and fir trees and also allowed native hardwood trees to regenerate on bare portions of the land. Today, visitors can stroll through the woods which are straight out of a storybook. They may spot salamanders, painted turtles, and other wildlife.
