Join a CSA Near Conshohocken

When the warm weather arrives, many people like to get outside and explore the local farmers' markets in the area to buy fresh produce and other specialty items directly from the farm. What many people may not realize is that in addition to visiting local farm stands, they can also support local farmers through Community Supported Agriculture (CSAs). CSAs offer members the opportunity to buy seasonal shares of produce, dairy, and meats which are then delivered weekly.

Here are a few great CSA opportunities near Conshohocken:

Crawford Organics

Located in Lancaster County, Crawford Organics has been growing a variety of organic produce since 1998. Weekly shares of Crawford Organics' CSA is available from April through December and includes an array of freshly picked seasonal items such as greens, root vegetables, tomatoes, sweet corn, and sweet potatoes. There is also an opportunity to choose a fruit share with varieties such as strawberries, blueberries, and apples. Members can pick up their weekly boxes every Tuesday at a drop-off spot in Conshohocken.

Longview Farm and Market

With produce that has all been grown at their Collegeville farm, Longview Farm and Market is a family farm that has been in operation since 2005. Full and half shares are offered May through October and include seasonal greens and vegetables. In addition to the weekly shares, members can also include specialty items such as herbs and flowers. CSA shares can be picked up on Tuesdays or Saturdays at Longview Farm or at a drop-off site in Conshohocken.

Taproot Farm

Based in Shoemakersville, Taproot Farm was founded in 2009 with a mission to provide the freshest organically-grown produce in the area. Summer shares are available from June through November and a shorter winter share is offered from November to January. Weekly shares include salad greens, cooking greens, herbs, berries, and sweet peppers. Members can also sign up for additional items such as eggs, mushrooms, bread, and dairy to add to their weekly share. Taproot provides a Conshohocken drop-off site on Wednesday evenings.
